What information do we collect about you and how do we use it?

When you order from SimiWeave.com, we collect your full name, email address, telephone numbers and postal address to process and fulfil your orders and to notify you of your order status. This is permissible under the 'performance of a contract' legal basis.

 

When you make an enquiry, request information or are a customer and request further customer services, we collect your full name, email address and telephone numbers to respond to you and assist you. This is permissible under the 'performance of a contract' legal bases.

When you choose to provide us with product reviews, and / or photos for our customers' gallery, we collect your name, email address and photos to administer your reviews or contributions to our customers' gallery.  Your contributions as published feature minimal personal information (typically your name, location and before and after images). This is permissible under the 'performance of a contract' legal bases.

 

When you subscribe (opt in) to our email list, we collect your email address to send you emails about our new styles, discounts and special offers. This is permissible under the ‘consent’ legal basis.

 

When you register as a member of our NaturalHairForever! forum, we collect your email address for administration purposes. This is permissible under the 'performance of a contract' and 'legitimate interests' legal bases. You may also choose to provide your first name, surname and telephone number although this is not mandatory for administration purposes.

 

Some of our forms on either website may ask for other non-mandatory information to help us to provide a more personalised service, but you do not have to provide such information.

What kind of communications can I expect from SimiWeave.com?

When you order you will receive email notifications of the order placed and further emails relating to the dispatch of the order. If you subscribe to our email list you can expect to receive emails about our new style launches, special offers, competitions, surveys, and hair & fashion inspiration ideas.  If you make an enquiry, request information or are a customer and request further customer services we will respond to your enquiry in the appropriate manner, to manage our relationship with you, and, to provide you with information about our products and services. We may occasionally ask you to fill out a survey to help us with product planning, website upgrades and other research purposes - you do not have to respond to our surveys, but it helps us improve our service to you if you do. Otherwise, we do not use your personal information for any secondary or unrelated purposes nor do we share or disclose it to any third-party companies.

How does SimiWeave.com and NaturalHairForever! protect customer information?

When you place orders or access your account or membership information, we offer the use of a secure server software (SSL) which encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. Furthermore, all of the customer data we collect is stored securely using suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures, security measures and appropriate safeguards to prevent its unauthorised access, use or disclosure. We keep and use your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the stated purposes and we delete it when those purposes no longer apply.

What about "cookies"?

"Cookies" are small text files containing a random and unique identifier that are stored by your browser on your computer's hard drive.  We use cookies on SimiWeave.com and NaturalHairForever! to gather anonymous usage data from all our sites' visitors, for instance, information about your browsing behaviour to help us improve our services to you, and to improve the performance of certain apps, features and plug-ins on our site, for example our ‘wearing and caring’ videos.

These are our data capture and mailing list CRM service providers (Wix and MailChimp) and our payment transactions provider (2Checkout). All our data processors are located in places verified as 'adequate' third countries by the EU and / or where an existing international data transfer instrument exists (i.e. the EU/US Privacy Shield).

International data transfers

Your personal data is processed at the owner's operating premises in the UK and in any other places where our data processors are located.  This may involve international data transfers depending on your location. The legal basis of data transfers to a country outside the EU is standard contractual clauses and the appropriate security measures are taken by the owner and the data processors to safeguard your data. 

Changes to the use of your personal data

We will only use your personal data for the purposes for which we collected it, unless we reasonably consider that we need to use it for another reason and that reason is compatible with the original purpose.  Please contact us for an explanation of how the processing for the new purpose is compatible with the original purpose.  If we need to use your personal data for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and we will explain the legal basis which allows us to do so.  Please note that we may process your personal data without your knowledge or consent, in compliance with the above rules, where this is required or permitted by law.

These requests can be exercised free of charge and will be addressed by the owner as early as possible and always within one month. We may need to request specific information from you to help us confirm your identity as a security measure to ensure that personal data is not disclosed to any person who has no right to receive it.
